Years In The Sport

Since 2005

Sporting background: played high school football for 4 years and then played for the Saskatchewan Huskies (college football) as a linebacker for a couple of years. I also did Midget level hockey as well during high school.

Why I do triathlon: I do triathlon for crossing training, for the many challenges that it presents to me and for the many friendships that I have made along the way. I also do triathlon to maintain the healthy lifestyle that has taken me 8 years to establish.

Triathlon Accomplishments:

  • 2009 – Ironman Canada – 16:17 (first Ironman)
  • Best half ironman time was 6:32 at Stony in 2009. This was an almost 1 hour improvement since 2007 where I did Stony in 7:27
  • My best marathon time was 4:29 in Victoria and my best half marathon time was 1:57 at the Queen City Half Marathon in 2006
  • My best duathlon time at the Bare Bones Duathlon was 2:05. This was a 25min improvement over the 2006 Station Flats Duathlon.

Triathlon Goals: My goals for 2010 are as follows: Go sub 15 at Ironman Canada (1 hour improvement) and improve my half ironman time from 6:30 to at least 6:15. I always want to do at least one Ironman a year and try different Ironmans throughout the world.

MRT Testimonial Sara is a great coach. She has helped me with many things and will continue to do so in the future. I enjoy the fellowship and support of her other athletes as well.
