Years In The Sport

Since 2006

Sporting background: During school I was an swimmer and cross country runner but my main sport was Basketball. I did triathlon when I was 16 and 17 with the Dubbo Tri Club but when I went to UNI I stopped triathlon and focused on Basketball which I played at a State League level. I also played many codes of footy during my uni year. I got back into Tri in 06 after a 6 year break and have not looked back.

Why I do triathlon: I love the feeling of accomplishment when I cross the finish line. It's not just the race but the training, time and commitment that I have put into that race that makes crossing that line so important and satisfying.

Triathlon Accomplishments:

  • Member of Triathlon NSW Elite Endurance Development Squad since 2009
  • 2nd AG 16th Outright NSW Long Course Champs 2009
  • 4th Outright Maitland Long course Triathlon 2009
  • 3rd AG NSW Olympic distance Champs 2008
  • 8th Outright NSW Club Championships 2009
  • Qualifier for 2010 70.3 World Championships

Triathlon Goals: I am currently working on a 3 year plan that takes me through to 2012. The basics of the plan is to improve each year and see where I am at the end of this time then go from there.

Additional Comments: Triathlon is fun, I love the training I love being apart of it, and I love doing well. My two fondest memories so far are finishing my firt Half Ironman after having no idea about what I was getting into with my good friend Byron and thinking I was not going to make it to the line that day and watching my wife cross the line after her first half and being so proud of how hard she had worked leading up to and being able to share that moment with her.
