Years In The Sport

Since 2005

Sporting background: Growing up in small town Saskatchewan I played all sports including Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton. I was a high school provincial badminton champion and a member of Team Saskatchewan Badminton for 3 years while attending the University of Saskatchewan. As a part of Team Sask I also participated in the National Badminton Championships. I was also a high school badminton coach for 5 years.

My interest in sports and fitness lead me to becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist where I work as a trainer part time. I’m also currently in the process of obtaining my Triathlon coaching certification.

Why I do triathlon: I do triathlons because I absolutely love a challenge. I enjoy training and striving to reach new goals. Triathlon is such a dynamic sport which allows me to see how far I can push myself and to meet a tonne of great people. Training for triathlons allows me to maintain a high level of fitness and stay physically and mentally strong.

Triathlon Accomplishments: I have completed numerous Sprint and Olympic distance races as well as 4 Half Ironmans. In August 2009 I became an Ironman by completing Ironman Canada in Penticton, B.C. I am also race director of Regina Beach Triathlon which takes place annually in July.

Triathlon Goals: I am striving for personal bests at Florida 70.3 in May 2010 as well as Ironman Canada in August 2010. I would also like to continuing pursuing triathlon coaching and making triathlon a permanent part of my life.
