Coach Julie Anderson
If you are looking for the personal touch in your coaching relationship, Coach Julie Anderson might be your girl. A triathlete for 10 years, Julie started as a raw beginner and trained herself into a race winner. Her athletes rave about her ability to get to know them and get the best out of them. She remembers what it was like to be a newbie and she is a fabulous teacher and mentor. We are proud to have Julie as part of the MRT team.
Well, what can I say about Julie! In my fourth year of triathlon, I decided to do my 1st full iron distance event. Wanting to do things the right way, I acquired Julie as my coach. As a lead up to Challenge Penticton, Julie prepped me for 3 big 70.3 races: Ironman St. George Utah, Oliver BC, and Ironman Calgary (which also happened to be a qualifying race for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Mt. Tremblant, QB). The end result is nothing short of impressive: a 13:24 finish at Challenge Penticton, followed by a successful finish at the World Championship in Quebec. Although I could tell you about all the warm and fuzzy qualities about Julie, and there are many, my success over this past year is a direct reflection on her capacity as a coach. So, the question shouldn't be "who's YOUR coach?" rather, the question should be "why isn't it Julie Anderson?- Gord Bramfield
In my first 12 months working with Julie and Mercury Rising Triathlon, I went from a struggling self coached triathlete to a year of personal bests in everything I did. I am swim, bike, and running better and faster than I ever have and now finish races feeling strong. I feel confident, fit, and like I could take on any distance race I want to. Thank you so much for turning me into an athlete and a better person!- Darren Eveleigh
